Too Warm for January

It is waaay too warm outside. Better than 60 degrees.

Skiing on Saturday was not too pleasant -- the hill had lost about 10 inches from the week before. I actually (gasp) took a snowboarding lesson rather than scratch up the bases on my skis.

Great Falls looks dry and dusty. We need cold weather and lots of precipitation. Anyone thinking that this weather is nice is not thinking ahead to the fires we will be having in August (or maybe June/July).

Anyone know a good snow dance? Here's hoping for 10 feet of snow and forty below.

Hey how about a compromise??? Can we settle on 10 inches of snow and temps around 0? I don't want to deal with below zero temps!! :-)

I am always up for a good compromise. How about 8 feet of snow and 30 below?

Sorry that is still too much and too cold. How about 12 inches of snow and 5 below? I will go absolutely NO colder!!!!!!

It sure was a beautiful day -- for JUNE! You're right, Aaron...it's Montana, it's January -- this is not the time for 60+ degrees! I miss the snow! And while I'm not sure that I want to see -30 degrees again anytime soon, 0 sounds just about right -- with a foot of snow on the ground.

OK, I see your 12 inches and 5 below; and raise you to 8 feet. I will humor you and stay pat at 5 below.

Sorry I can't take the 8 feet of snow. I now say 6 inches. The 10 miles to the bus would NOT be fun in 8 feet of snow.

I hear what you are saying, but can not agree. We have too little moisture, and need to get socked by snow so that we will have runoff through the beginning of August.

Also, the ski hills are getting bare. Washington state resorts have had to actually close their doors from lack of snow. Montana resorts are getting there. We NEED lots and lots of SNOW!!

How's this for a compromise?
Tons of snow in the mountains, and no subzero temps...
