However, that is not what I am going to talk about here. From the story:
Eighty percent of the children placed in foster homes in Cascade County are between the age 12 or younger.Between the age 12 or younger? Does the Tribune even have a copy editor?
I mean, there are a lot of typos in this blog. However, the only "editing" that I get here is the little paperclip in MS Word. I expect more from a daily paper.

*OMG* that is not cool!
I remember stories in college about checking your notes so parents don't correct them & send them back but this is a newspaper! Damn!
(I even spell check my & re-read my comments. I usually end up cringing when I don't)
Y'know, I give the Trib a lot of crap in this blog. I do not do it just be a crank or a gadfly.
A proactive daily paper is IMPORTANT. At its best, a good daily is a vital part of a community; doing more than disseminating press releases.
A good daily should highlight community needs and keep us all honest. It is more than "dead tree media," it is a news gathering organization with a reach and breadth greater than any local blog.
To give credit where it is due, the Tribune often gets it right. However, on too many occasions they do not. That is why I regularly use this space to bust the Trib's chops.
And part of being a good daily is to double check the grammar and spelling.
I'm with you Aaron. They can get it right, but it is frustrating when they ignore things that are right before their eyes.
